About four years ago I got very good at taking time for myself.  Before it was more of a thought –  “Ya, I probably should take time out for me.”  But it was usually just that.  A thought.  I knew self care was important.  I just didn’t realize how much I needed it.

I started to take time at the end of each day to take a bath.  Life Changing.  That time to just escape away and be by myself to soak, listen to music, read – whatever – brought so much energy back to my life.  I started to really look forward to that time, and I noticed my family did too.  Once I said I was going up to take a bath, the whole house knew it was time to wind down.  My husband took care of whatever chores were left.  The kids made sure their homework was done and everything was wrapped up.  Everyone started to get into the routine of once Mom had her bath, she was done.  It was a breath of fresh air to KNOW that I had a break coming.  Being a stay at home mom is the best job in the land, but it’s also the hardest.  I needed a break.  And I DESERVED a break.

I am now a believer in self care.  It isn’t selfish.  It isn’t a luxury.  It is a necessity!  You will be more focused, more energized and happier if you can learn to take time EACH day to take care of you.  We came up with 25 SIMPLE ways to take care of you TODAY!  Just try to do at least one thing a day that helps you breath, helps you smile, helps you ready to conquer another day!
